Hello, my name is Brian Wardwell and I am double majoring in Web Development & Computer Programming. MUSICBYTES is something I conceived at the beginning of the fall 2014 semester while beginning our Content Management Systems class. I wanted to create a blog that didn’t focus on metal or rock, electronic or even worrying about labeling too much. Well, at least I wanted it to not be a primary focus. I simply feel that society or even yourself, labels are so limiting. However, this isn’t to say it’s not fine if someone just likes rock or simply just likes classical. My point is that this blog, now starting to grow in design to be more of a website, won’t focus on only one genre. I can also promise that I will make it my mission to keep content objective and not subjective. Music is such a personal ingredient in life. It helps us remember times in the past and it helps us envision what we want our future to be (or even fear the future to be). The music is made by the artists but it seems that every music fan makes it their own in some way, whether it’s large or small. With that in mind, I don’t think it’s anyone’s place to say who should or shouldn’t enjoy as part of their life’s soundtrack. In short, please be kind to other commenters. This is an all and anything music blog/site.
Our second author, Saint, should be starting here soon. I plan on creating a page for her, one much like is posted for myself. There will likely be some content when the page is created but it may be minimal until we can write up something more appropriate. Again, we thank you for your patience. I will point out however that she’s a very active Marilyn Manson fan. She also enjoys Nine Inch Nails, Pennywise, Gov’t Mule, The Veer Union, Korn, and far too many more to mention without her own post.
Music is an amazing thing. I can’t imagine what life would be like without music having a soundtrack to mine. I know there are many others who wholeheartedly believe that as well. My father introduced me to music nearly as soon as I was introduced to food and water. It’s as natural to me as walking or talking and I know there are many people like that out there. It’s simply a way of life with many of us.
We will respect fans of all music but we require you to respect each other as well. For this reason, all comments must be approved before they will be posted. I simply just want to keep it clean and respectful. Thank you and enjoy.
